As part of our Read Across America celebration, we are welcoming guest readers into our classroom throughout the week! We will have guest readers in our class all week long. There are still some spots open for guest readers so if you'd like to come sign up, please do! We will also be eating Green Eggs and Ham on Friday! Thank you for all of the donations to make our week so much fun!
Parent conferences will begin this week and continue next week. You should have received a little yellow reminder note in your child's folder on Friday. If you did not sign up for a spot, I assigned you one. I am looking forward to meeting with all of you to discuss your child's growth in the classroom the past trimester. Because we only have so much time per conference, I'd like to politely ask that you arrive on time so we can make the most of our time together.

What Are We Learning This Week?:
Sight Words: FIRST, SECOND, THIRD, NEXT, LAST.
Letter Team: TCH (sounds like CH, like in BATCH, FETCH, ITCH).
Reading: This week, we will welcome guest readers and read lots of Dr. Seuss books.
Writing: This week, we will be writing all about our favorite books. We will write about our favorite parts of the story, the characters, and why we love to read.
Math: We will continue to work on our Daily Math Practice sheets, our fluency through 5, and composing and decomposing. This week, I will introduce math stories. Students will have the opportunity to read and answer a math story. In each answer, I am expecting a picture, number sentence, and in some cases, an explanation on HOW you got your answer. You can help at home by telling math stories to your child every night and work on strategies for how to answer them.
