This week, we are beginning our study on TADPOLES!!! We are so excited to read and write all about tadpoles and learn about their life cycle. To help us learn, please welcome (and excuse the quality of the picture) our new class pets....
Larry, Curly, and Moe
They have been making a splash in my kitchen this weekend and I cannot wait for the kids to see them!
We have been invited to an Easter Egg Hunt at Braswell's on THIS Thursday, April 5th at 10:30. PERMISSION SLIP COMING HOME MONDAY! I currently DO NOT have any chaperones, so if you would like to accompany our class for this walking field trip, please let me know! We will be leaving at 10:15 and returning by the end of the school day.
If you are at the store and happen to think of us: we are in need of gluesticks, thick black expo markers, index cards, heavy-duty sheet protectors, and computer ink (Canon 210/211XL and HP 74/75XL). We appreciate it!
Keep working on those community service projects! Presentations will be due the last week of April (23rd-27th).
What Are We Learning This Week??:
Sight Words: SIX, SEVEN, EIGHT, NINE, TEN.
Letter Team: EIGH (sounding like "a" like in EIGHT and NEIGHBOR).
Reading: We will read books about the life cycle of tadpoles and our poem of the week, "Five Little Tadpoles".
Writing: Students have been having so much fun writing fictional stories! This week we will be writing a step up to writing about tadpoles and a fictional story about Easter bunnies!
Math: This week, we begin learning fact families. We will also focus on using the number line to help us with our addition and subtraction. Please continue to work on circled problems that students are missing and reinforcing these concepts at home. Practice your math facts everyday for our Tuesday and Friday Timed Tests!
Leadership: SERVICE.
